Daniel Hegan on fire catching a 39lb 10oz PB all on the Nutcracker!!!
After a very slow and some painful fishing on swan valley this past winter it was finally nice to start getting amongst the fish again. This first month of the new season has been rather good for me as I have been able to catch myself a few nice carp.
It’s worked out that I have managed to catch every trip apart from one overnighter so I can’t really grumble at that. I’ve had carp of…21.10,20,28,29.14 and a new PB of 39.10,which I’m over the moon with as its quite a rare visitor to the bank.
And as a last minute decision to fish Saturday night I had a 33.12 mirror and the long fish at 38.2. All my bites have been coming to washed out nutcracker pop ups and White pop ups fish Either as a chod or a hinged stiff rig, these have been fished in and amongst the weed over about 20/30 freebies. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings when I actually start to give them some bait.
